About the role
We’re looking for a confident and collaborative communications professional to join our team as a Communications Business Partner. In this key role, you’ll provide dedicated support to services across the Council, shaping campaigns, advising senior managers, and ensuring our communications are strategic, joined-up and effective.
Whether it’s supporting a service transformation, leading internal communications around change, responding to media enquiries or developing engaging content across digital and print, you’ll work closely with colleagues and partners to protect and enhance the Council’s reputation. You’ll act as the first point of contact for your service area, champion insight-led campaigns, and help ensure communications reflect the Council’s values and priorities.
About you
You’ll have a strong background in communications or public relations, with experience of working in a fast-paced, complex environment. You’ll be comfortable advising senior leaders, handling sensitive issues, and developing campaigns that achieve real impact. Internal communication experience and political awareness are key, alongside the ability to build trusted relationships and juggle multiple priorities. A flexible, proactive approach and excellent writing skills are essential.
