Job summary

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

The cardiothoracic surgical team at the Royal Stoke provide coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve surgery, aortic surgery, and lung surgery. We also receive patients with chest trauma as part of the regional Trauma Centre status of UHNM.

Cardiothoracic Surgery Ward is 32 bedded with 8 level 1 bed and 3 pre op trolley areas providing pre and post elective and emergency cardiothoracic surgical patients and thoracic chest trauma patients. It is a busy, fast-paced clinical environment with daily turn over of patients. We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic support worker to join our team and advance their skills as a Band 2.


Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Support Worker you will be working under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will be able to perform the jobs which are outlined in UHNM job description for Band 2 Clinical Support Worker. You will also be able to perform, setting up chest drain trolley, catheterisation trolley, Negative Pressure Wound therapy trolley.

You will also work with Senior Clinical Clinical Support worker within the team.
