We put wellbeing first by giving our teams more time to recharge Job Title: Pastoral Coordinator Location: Ashley Park School, Epsom, Surrey KT18 7LR Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8am - 4pm Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata) Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Start: September 2026 UK applicants only – no sponsorship available About the Role Are you passionate about transforming pupils’ lives through exceptional pastoral care, trauma‑informed practice and positive behaviour support? We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Cordinator to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the wellbeing, regulation and success of our pupils. This is a key position within our school, supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning, develop self‑regulation and thrive both academically and socially. Working closely with the Headteacher and wider SLT, you will lead on behaviour support, pastoral strategy and safeguarding, ensuring our pupils receive the highest standard of care. What You’ll Do Lead whole‑school pastoral and behaviour support, modelling trauma‑informed and person‑centred approaches, delivering CPI training, coaching staff, supporting reflective practice, and maintaining a visible presence during transitions and daily routines. Analyse and monitor behaviour and wellbeing, using Sleuth data to identify patterns, implement regulation strategies, reduce RPIs, suspensions and exclusions, and quality assure RPI records, reporting and pupil risk assessments. Provide direct support during behavioural incidents, modelling effective regulation strategies, coordinating personalised timetables and recovery curriculum approaches, and identifying factors affecting pupil engagement. Work collaboratively with class teams, therapists and SLT, ensuring consistent implementation of behaviour plans, sharing analysis, initiating MDT meetings when needed, and supporting transitions across classes and key stages. Build strong relationships with Parents/Carers, promoting positive communication, supporting consistency between home and school, and ensuring agreed actions and strategies are followed. Develop effective links with external agencies, attending reintegration meetings, contributing to multi‑agency planning, and ensuring actions are implemented and monitored. Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, recording concerns accurately, maintaining required documentation, and contributing to the school’s safeguarding culture. Support whole‑school development, contributing to the School Development Plan, mentoring colleagues, maintaining professional communication, keeping records in line with policy, and working as part of the multi‑disciplinary team. Understands trauma‑informed practice and person‑centred behaviour approaches. Can build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
