After School Play Leader – Unique Children's Wraparound Club in Thames Ditton!
Casual/Flexible hours on offer with the majority of available hours being 2pm-6:30pm Tuesday to Thursday and up to 40 hours during holiday camps if available
£10ph-12.21ph (dependent on age, experience and qualifications) plus holiday pay allowance
We are recruiting for a brand new wraparound childcare business in Thames Ditton based in the Vital Village Community Hub. They provide before and after school club services that go beyond childcare, ensuring the time is spent in an enriching way that complements families' routines.
We are excited to introduce a dynamic and flexible opportunity for an experienced Play Leader to join their team. This role is key to the company's ethos, enabling children to thrive through engaging indoor and outdoor activities. They seek individuals passionate about sharing this environment and bringing new and exciting ideas to the group.
Their focus is on providing high-quality care, prioritizing the well-being and development of every child, and fostering an environment where children feel loved, valued, and free to explore their potential.
Children will enjoy activities like Multi Sports, performing arts, languages, music lessons, Arts and Crafts, Book Corners, and seasonal activities emphasizing sustainability.
A little about your responsibilities...
* Collect children from three local schools via minibus or walking bus
* Lead large group activities such as games, challenges, and sports
* Lead small group activities like arts and crafts, cooking, and board games
* Create an inspiring, inclusive, safe, caring, and stimulating environment tailored to individual children
* Prepare and serve healthy snacks and meals, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met
* Participate in daily debriefs and meetings as needed
A little about you...
* NVQ 2 in Playwork or Childcare (or equivalent) or relevant experience and willingness to learn
* Understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted standards
* Honest and open communication
* Experience working with 3–11-year-olds and a fun, responsible attitude
* Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
* Driven, people-focused, with excellent communication skills
* Paediatric First Aid qualification and enhanced DBS preferred but can be provided
