Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading construction firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Manager.
As Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of H&S policies, provide guidance and coaching to operational teams, and ensure all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with ISO and legislative standards.
In your new role:
1. Lead, develop, and continuously improve Health & Safety policies and procedures
2. Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, ISO45001, ISO14001, and company standards
3. Conduct risk assessments, site audits, and incident investigations
4. Champion employee wellbeing, mental health initiatives, and promote a positive safety culture
5. Provide expert guidance on HSE, environmental, and operational compliance issues
6. Oversee contractor compliance and implement effective subcontractor policies
7. Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and ensure statutory requirements are met
8. Actively participate in management meetings, contributing to company-wide operational decisions
9. Support continuous improvement programs and corporate social responsibility initiatives
What you will need to succeed:
10. 3+ years' experience in a Construction H&S Management role
11. Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)
12. In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and ISO management standards
13. Good communication and influencing skills
14. IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
15. Full driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
16. Experience within the maintenance or public sector construction projects
17. NEBOSH Diploma / Degree in Safety or related discipline
18. IOSH Membership
19. Experience working across multiple sites operations
