Salary: £30‑34k per annum
Contract: 8 months temporary position, full‑time, ending December 2026
Join a leading materials company as a Scientist supporting their technical team.
This role exists to help shape, refine and deliver solutions used across UK, with a strong focus on technical performance and customer impact.
Responsibilities
* Supporting to create and test new technical solutions
* Working closely with multiple business functions—innovation, sustainability, digital and portfolio teams—to progress new product development projects
* Ensuring customer needs are clearly understood and embedded into technical decisions and project outcomes
* Helping identify root‑cause issues and applying structured technical processes to answer key project questions
* Contributing to continuous improvement in safety standards and championing safe working practices
* Engaging directly with customers and maintaining clear, supportive communication throughout each project
* Travelling to customer sites around the UK when required
Qualifications
* Degree in a science, engineering or related discipline
* Previous experience applying scientific or technical principles within projects
* Confident communicator who can explain technical points clearly and factually
* Organised, delivery‑focused and able to manage multiple tasks with high accuracy
* Commitment to excellent safety behaviours
* Full UK travel flexibility when needed
