Maintenance Supervisor: Leicester, £45,000 - £52,000 Days Based
W Talent is delighted to be working with a well-established, fast-paced manufacturing business based in Leicester, who are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and driven maintenance professional to lead a team of engineers within a high-volume production environment. The role will play a key part in ensuring maximum equipment uptime, driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of safety and reliability across site.
The Role
Reporting into the Engineering or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities are delivered effectively.
This is a days-based role within a fast-moving manufacturing environment, requiring strong leadership capability alongside solid technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will lead from the front, providing technical support where required while ensuring the maintenance team operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance engineering team.
Ensure planned preventative maintenance schedules are executed effectively to minimise downtime.
Lead and support reactive maintenance activities to ensure swift fault resolution.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Monitor KPIs including downtime, MTTR and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site standards.
Assist in planning maintenance shutdowns and project work.
Support the development and training of the engineering team.
Work closely with production to prioritise workloads and minimise operational disruption.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with internal systems.About You
Previous experience in a Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Maintenance Engineer role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capability.
Experience managing or mentoring engineers on shift.
Good understanding of PPM systems and maintenance planning.
Ability to analyse performance data and drive improvements.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.Salary & Benefits
