Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum Create a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment for all pupils Assess, monitor and report on pupils’ progress, identifying and addressing individual learning needs Work closely with colleagues, support staff and parents/carers to promote the academic and personal development of children Implement effective classroom and behaviour management strategies Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and events Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures Person Specification: Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (including teaching placements if ECT) Good knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum and assessment procedures Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills A positive, reflective and flexible approach to teaching and learning A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Desirable: Experience supporting children with SEND and EAL Understanding of phonics teaching (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc.)
