Salary & Pay Structure
1. £39,136 basic annual salary (based on 37.5 hours per week) plus overtime
2. £20.70 per hour (basic rate)
3. Weekly overtime available
4. Paid travel time and company vehicle provided

5. Weekday overtime (outside 7.5-hour day): £31.05 per hour (1.5×)
6. Saturday morning: £31.05 per hour (1.5×)
7. Saturday afternoon & Sundays: £41.40 per hour (2×)

About the Company
Our client is a well-established electrical engineering company providing a wide range of services, including electrical installations, control systems, and fire & security solutions. With a focus on high-quality service and support, they work across industrial, commercial, and utilities sectors. Due to continued growth and demand for their services, they are looking for experienced Approved Electricians / Electrical Test Engineers to join a friendly, professional team.
Key Responsibilities
17. Carry out electrical installations, testing, inspections, and remedial work in line with current wiring regulations (BS7671)
18. Work independently or as part of multi-person teams across various client sites
19. Complete safety documentation, pre-start checklists, and risk assessments for each job
20. Record all work accurately using internal compliance forms, job cards, and test sheets
21. Safely isolate electrical systems where required for maintenance or installation
22. Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe working practices (RAMS)
23. Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses according to company policy
24. Liaise with site supervisors and project leads to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely
Essential Skills & Experience
25. Ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
26. Skilled in testing electrical installations and accurately recording results for certification
27. Willingness to develop and expand skills across industrial installations, control systems, and instrumentation
28. Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance in all work activities
29. Previous experience working in the water industry would be beneficial but not essential
Minimum Qualifications
30. Recognised Level 3 electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent)
31. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
32. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) qualification
33. Relevant test and inspection certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
34. Current ECS/JIB card or equivalent
Working Hours
35. 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
36. Overtime available most weeks, including Saturdays and Sundays
37. Flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours work
Location
Ideal candidates will live in or around the South Lakes or North Lancashire area due to travel requirements.
