About the Role
Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust has a vacancy in the MYDoc registrar programme. The role combines service delivery and educational input within the specialty. It is not a recognised UK training post, but the post‑holder will have a named supervisor and support for scheduled educational opportunities. The role is ideally suited for a St3/4 equivalent trainee who would like further exposure and experience before national recruitment.
Main Duties
* Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions, including complex cases.
* Assisting and operating (with or without direct supervision) on patients in theatre depending on attained surgical competencies.
* Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate.
* Out‑patient activities and clinics.
* Involvement in speciality and cross‑speciality multidisciplinary teams and meetings.
* Involvement in relevant administration duties.
* Teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
* Active involvement in audit and clinical governance, including service improvement activities.
* Participation in acute non‑resident middle‑grade on‑call rota.
Essential Person Specification Requirements
* Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
* Medical Degree from a recognised medical school.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Pre‑registration or foundation training and at least one year in a relevant speciality in an NHS Trust or equivalent overseas experience.
* Demonstrates an intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
* Possesses good communication skills.
