Equans is looking for a General Operative to join our team based in Kidderminster on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package

You will provide a high quality level service according to contractual service level requirements.

What will you deliver?

1. Correctly and efficiently recording information relating to specified mail items utilising a number of different valuable recording systems.
2. Identifying suspected fraudulent items utilising technology provided and processing as per
requirements for each unique business unit.
3. Producing banking documentation as per each unique business unit.
4. Identify items for repatriation as per each unique set of business unit rules.
5. Preparation and secure despatch of manifests and originals as per each unique business unit requirements.
6. Reconciliation of banking and manifest documentation.
7. Achieve required quality and productivity for all tasks.
8. Record all production statistics as required.
9. Ensure mail trays are logged onto system at point of receipt and tray IDs generated.
10. Check mail trays for exempt from opening items.
11. Ensuring mail flows through to high speed opening, x-ray or scanning prep areas smoothly and efficiently as per the production plan.
12. Ensure envelopes are opened on the high speed equipment in rotation as per the plan andthat all tray ids are updated on the system.
13. Ensure all trays ready to be fully opened and sorted are assigned to the correct desk and operator.
14. Effectively and efficiently sort the mail by utilising the technology on the sort desks.
15. Ensure no cross contamination of envelopes occurs at any stage of the mail handling process.
16. Accurately preparing mail into batches for scanning.
17. Ensure correct envelope and document separators are used where mail is being prepared for scanning.
18. Ensure correct exempt lists are referred to for the Business Unit mail being handled.
19. Utilise technology during sort process to record live production information.
20. Ensure sort desk is cleared down prior to commencing opening of another sites mail within set time and that all polylopes are sealed prior to the mail leaving the desk.
21. Ensure valuables are secure during the sort process and identifiable at all times.
22. Achieve required quality and productivity for all tasks.

Who are you?

34. Previous experience of data entry with a typing speed equivalent to a minimum of 45-50 w.p.m.
35. PC literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access).
36. Ability to communicate well at all levels.
37. Good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
38. Abide by and promote good Health and Safety practices in the workplace.
39. Able to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision, as and when required.
40. Flexible approach and ability to work as part of a team in a multi skilled mail processing centre environment.
41. Courteous, helpful and can do attitude.
42. Reasonable flexibility to meet business needs.

This role includes a Basic DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
