Brew up something special - lead our café at one of the UK's finest schools
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Café Supervisor to join our team at Lodestone House, based at a prestigious independent school - one of the very best in the country. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a passion for great coffee, exceptional service, and leading a team to thrive in a truly special environment.
This is a term-time only role, contracted to 37.5 hours per week at £14.00 per hour, equating to 40.6 weeks per year including holiday allowance. You'll be joining a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and gives you every opportunity to grow and progress.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Supervising the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring an exceptional and consistently high standard of service
• Leading and supporting a team of varying sizes depending on the service or task, keeping everyone motivated and on track
• Managing smooth lunch service across catering operations, stepping in wherever needed to keep things running efficiently
• Supporting the delivery of hospitality services across the school site to the highest standard
• Preparing and serving high quality coffee and beverages, setting the standard for the whole team
• Closing down the café correctly at the end of each service, ensuring all procedures are followed
• Handling cash and completing cashing up accurately at the end of each shift
• Contributing to stock takes and supporting the ordering process to ensure the café is always well stocked
• Maintaining full compliance with food safety, allergen management, and health and safety requirements at all times
Our ideal Café Supervisor will:
• Have proven experience working in a café or coffee environment, with the ability to make excellent quality coffee
• Be a naturally warm, bubbly and engaging individual who loves connecting with customers and colleagues alike
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding experiences
• Have experience supervising or leading a team, with the confidence to direct and support others
• Be highly organised, reliable, and able to manage a busy service with composure
• Have a thorough understanding of food safety, allergen legislation, and health and safety best practice
• Be a hands-on team player who leads by example and takes pride in their work
