Salary: $23.65 - $27.58 per hour (compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package including extended health and dental, life insurance, health care spending account), participation in the OMERS pension plan, competitive vacation and sick leave.

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 38 in-person schools (31 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Responsibilities
* Perform grounds maintenance such as cut/trim grass, weed eat on playground around schools, fence line and tree trimming.
* Perform preventative maintenance on the tractor and mowers by checking hydraulic fluid, grease fittings, power steering and transmission fluids, and changing oil and oil filters as required.
* Plan and schedule grounds maintenance work for various schools.
* Attend to the needs of community groups using the school by giving directions and setting up equipment in accordance with permit specifications and the Lead Hand’s instructions.
* Open/secure building and/or areas assigned during and at the end of shift as required.
* Sweep, mop, vacuum, spray buff, burnish, pick up and take out garbage, dustING and empty pencil sharpeners. Ensure recycling is taken to the curbside/designated collection area as required.
Qualifications
* Minimum completion of a secondary school diploma, or equivalent.
* Minimum six (6) months of related experience.
* Must possess a valid driving license and have access to reliable transportation to various sites within the Board’s jurisdiction. Must have access to a vehicle properly equipped to tow a trailer with grass cutting equipment (minimum towing requirement is 5579lb/2520kg).
