About the Role
As a Biology Teacher, you will deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level Biology depending on experience. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, promote scientific inquiry, and help pupils develop strong analytical and practical skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching Biology across KS3 and KS4, with optional KS5 opportunities
* Planning and delivering differentiated, engaging, and practical lessons
* Designing and supervising safe laboratory experiments and investigations
* Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback to support learning
* Contributing to departmental curriculum development and resource planning
* Supporting enrichment opportunities such as STEM clubs, competitions, and science fairs
* Promoting high standards of behaviour and a positive learning environment
* Collaborating with colleagues within the Science department and wider school
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
* Hold a degree in Biology or a closely related Science subject
* Have QTS or PGCE, or be completing an ECT programme
* Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Biology
* Have experience teaching secondary pupils or through ECT/placement experience
* Be confident in planning, delivering practical lessons, and classroom management
* Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive teaching
