Project Support Officer (Children) Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35, umbrella) Hybrid Start Date: February Duration: 3 months - until May 2026 initially Key Responsibilities: Project Coordination and Governance
1. Organise and coordinate project meetings, workshops and steering groups
2. Prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, track actions and ensure timely follow-up
3. Support the production of highlight reports, dashboards and presentations for programme and project boards
Data and Analysis Support
4. Collate, monitor and track data requests across multiple workstreams
5. Work collaboratively with Finance and Analysis & Insight (A&I) teams to support benefit mapping and realisation
6. Maintain and update live trackers covering placements, costs, milestones and key performance measures
Documentation and Communication
7. Draft and format project documentation, guidance materials and presentations PowerPoint, flowcharts and briefings)
8. Support internal communications and stakeholder engagement across workstreams
9. Produce concise summaries and updates from the Knowledge Hub and other relevant sources
Planning and Delivery Support
10. Assist with process mapping and workshop delivery alongside Business Analysts and transformation colleagues
11. Contribute to the maintenance of project plans and delivery trackers
12. Support coordination and logistics of transformation activity across the wider programme
Team and Programme Support
13. Provide flexible, proactive support across multiple children’s transformation projects as priorities evolve
14. Work collaboratively to maintain pace, consistency and quality of delivery
15. Uphold professional standards and a solution-focused approach within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
Key Requirements:
16. Proven experience in a project support or programme support role, ideally within local authority or public sector
17. Strong organisational skills with experience coordinating meetings, actions and reporting
18. Confident working with data, trackers and performance information
19. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
20. Experience supporting transformation or change programmes (desirable)
21. Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams
22. Experience within Children’s Services or related programmes (highly desirable)
