Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Leeds
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Associate (18 months-5 years' PQE) to join a nationally recognised healthcare and insurance litigation team based in Leeds. This role suits a motivated Lawyer who is keen to develop their career within a specialist practice known for handling complex, high-value defendant clinical negligence work for major healthcare clients.
The Role:
You will be part of a highly regarded clinical negligence team, working on a diverse and challenging caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims. The role offers exposure to sophisticated litigation, close client relationships and the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, progressive and quality-driven legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a varied caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through to conclusion
* Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other key legal documentation, while ensuring compliance with court timetables and procedural requirements
* Preparing cases for settlement discussions, mediations and hearings
* Acting as a trusted adviser to clients, delivering clear, practical and commercially focused advice
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships in line with agreed protocols and service standards
* Contributing to team initiatives including training, knowledge sharing, client events and business development activities
Requirements:
* Qualified Solicitor or Associate with 18 months to 5 years' experience in clinical negligence, personal injury, or insurance litigation
* Experience acting for healthcare bodies, insurers, NHS-related organisations, or medical defence clients is advantageous but not essential
* Strong technical ability, with excellent drafting, analytical and case management skills
* Confident using electronic case management systems and managing competing deadlines effectively
* A pragmatic, commercial mindset with strong communication and client‑care skills
* A collaborative approach, with a willingness to support junior team members and contribute to a positive team culture
