Overview
Location: Home / Hybrid with travel to multiple locations within Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The role covers a wide geographical area including Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside. Possible travel to South Cumbria.
Hours: 37.5 per week (e.g. 9:00–17:00 with half-hour unpaid break)
Location note: Ideally reside within Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire or Merseyside with the ability to travel across the region as required.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of ex-servicemen and women within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Assess client needs, source appropriate support, and navigate ongoing services to achieve outcomes.
* Act as the central point of contact for service users, coordinating care across housing, debt, welfare, education, training, social isolation, relationship issues, and related needs.
* Make referrals for support in collaboration with local delivery partners while maintaining overall caseworker responsibilities.
* Support clients to address challenges and work towards positive outcomes within the mental health pathway.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience as a caseworker with the ability to work independently and manage time and caseloads effectively.
* Ability to work within a dispersed and diverse caseload and collaborate with a wider support team.
* Experience or specialization in housing is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience or familiarity with working with veterans is beneficial but not essential.
About the role
As part of Op COURAGE, the veterans mental health and wellbeing service, the Veteran Liaison Support Officer (VLSO) will work with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust to support veterans in the mental health pathway.
