Join AXA Commercial as a Commercial Portfolio Manager on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, leading the portfolio planning and portfolio management activities for AXA Commercial, and working closely with the strategy, product capability and Commercial leadership teams. You’ll drive a best‑in‑class culture across the change portfolio, holding delivery teams to account for timelines and benefits, backed by a robust suite of metrics. You’ll help maximise business value, stay strategically focused and translate strategy into execution, turning strategic intent into tangible outcomes for the business and its customers.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing:
* Partner with the Product Capability team to shape, govern, and deliver the AXA UK Commercial portfolio from backlog to launch.
* Integrate and prioritise programs and their projects and ensure optimal allocation of resources across the portfolio.
* Lead portfolio governance and progress reporting to senior leadership and key bodies such as SteerCo, MC, Board, CCB, UK&I CB, BDA, Project Approval, including milestones and benefits realisation.
* Own budget planning for annual and multi-year programs, collaborating with Finance Business Partner to produce forecasts, explain variances, and ensure effective utilisation.
* Align roles and responsibilities with the central Commercial PMO and ensure compliance with AXA’s governance framework.
* Foster strong, collaborative relationships with project teams and provide coaching and guidance to support delivery and portfolio success.
What you’ll bring:
* Demonstrated track record in portfolio management for large-scale strategic programmes and portfolios.
* Experience operating in a regulated, product-based organisation.
* Proficiency with portfolio tooling such as ServiceNow, JIRA, DevOps or comparable platforms.
* Exceptional stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Proven financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management.
* Expert in analysing data trends and producing reports to inform decision‑making.
* Clear, impactful communicator, adept at articulating ideas, securing actions and shaping plans.
* Recognised authority in planning, prioritising, realising benefits and guiding governance.
