Become a Gap Assistant at Walhampton
An exciting opportunity is available to join our Gap Assistant team, working alongside subject teachers. The primary role of the Gap Assistant is to provide support to teachers in the boarding environment and across the School and getting to know the pupils and building relationships of trust with them. They will also be expected to support the Boarding House staff team and fully immerse themselves in the day-to-day life of the School.
In addition, they will have other responsibilities such as providing administrative support in our busy school office. Successful candidates must be flexible, hard-working, and enthusiastic. This is a varied and fulfilling position, perfect for someone looking for a temporary role, whether waiting to travel, having returned from travelling, or before starting university.
Hours will be term-time, including some evenings and weekends on a rota, plus school trips and expeditions which may fall over weekends during term-time. The position is residential to assist with boarding duties, with accommodation provided either within the boarding house or in the gap flats. Accommodation will be available for the Autumn and Easter breaks, but it will need to be vacated for the Summer holidays. Pay is after deduction of a standard accommodation allowance. We will also consider applications from candidates who prefer to live in the local area.

* Attend to matters promptly, passing relevant information to other members of staff in a timely manner.
* Attend school functions when required.
* Escort children on public transport, including train journeys to and from London, on a rota basis.
