Test Engineering Manager – Xpertise Recruitment
We’re recruiting for a Test Engineering Manager for a newly formed Engineering team within a niche financial services organization. This high‑impact role owns the end‑to‑end test automation suite and drives a quality‑first culture across the organization. You’ll combine hands‑on test automation development with strategic leadership, shaping the overall test strategy and driving a quality‑first culture across the organization.
What You’ll Do
* Lead all testing activities for projects, transformations, and BAU.
* Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for SaaS products, APIs, and data pipelines.
* Influence tool selection and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
* Perform functional and non‑functional testing (performance, security, integration).
* Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to define quality standards.
* Drive continuous improvement and shift‑left testing practices.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in test leadership and management, including process improvements.
* Hands‑on experience developing automated test frameworks for APIs and backend services.
* Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Xray, Playwright, Pytest, Pywinauto.
* Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, data validation, and CI/CD integration (GitHub).
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (GCP preferred).
* Understanding of security and performance testing methodologies.
* Bonus: Exposure to machine learning pipelines and testing data models.
Location: West Midlands (onsite once a week)
Salary: £50k-£55k + Benefits
