Opportunity Overview The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing the foundations for a major external grant submission. This will include leading a rapid review of the literature, coordinating and facilitating advisory groups, designing project workflows, and helping define the scientific and methodological framework for the proposed research. The postholder will also support the development of high-quality documentation for ethics, governance, and funding applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing post-doctoral researcher to build a strong academic profile within a leading multidisciplinary team. You will gain experience in collaborative research development, public involvement, neuroimaging methodologies, and cross-sector engagement, while contributing to research designed to deliver meaningful real-world impact. Working within the Centre for Applied Health Research, you will join a supportive, research-active environment with access to experienced supervisors, clinical collaborators, and established patient and public involvement networks. The successful candidate will join both the Digital Health and Medical Imaging (DHMI) and the Mental Health and Neurodiversity (MHN) research groups. The role would suit someone with a background in neuroimaging, medical imaging science, cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, or a related field, who is eager to contribute to high-quality research and develop competitive future funding proposals. Key Responsibilities Develop research ideas and experimental approaches aligned with the projects neuroimaging aims. Manage day-to-day project activity in line with agreed timelines and work plans. Conduct rapid/scoping literature reviews and contribute to the preparation of high-quality grant applications. Lead patient and public involvement, including coordination of advisory groups with people with lived experience of FASD. About the Research Centre The post is located within the Centre for Applied Health Research, School of Health and Society. The Centre undertakes leading edge, multidisciplinary research. Centre members are drawn from a wide range of health disciplines including nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, public health, sport and exercise science, biomechanics, podiatry, medical imaging and prosthetics and orthotics.
