Head of Projects – Facilities Management (M&E)

The Opportunity
We are working with a growing Facilities Management division that is expanding its project delivery capability across the North East. As a result, they are looking to appoint a Head of Projects to lead, develop, and scale their FM project function.
This is a senior leadership role and will suit someone with a strong technical M&E background who has delivered FM projects within live operational environments.
The Role
As Head of Projects, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of FM-led projects across a diverse portfolio, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, clients, and operational teams to drive growth, improve processes, and support the wider FM business strategy.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the delivery of M&E and FM projects across multiple sites

Manage project teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
*
Take ownership of project governance, budgets, programme, and commercial performance
*
Ensure full compliance with H&S, statutory, and client requirements
*
Support tendering, pricing, and mobilisation of new FM project works
*
Build strong client relationships and act as a senior point of escalation
*
Drive continuous improvement in project delivery, systems, and reporting
Key Requirements
*
Proven experience in a senior FM projects role (Head of Projects / Senior Project Manager / Projects Director level)
*
Technical background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential)
*
Strong experience delivering projects within Facilities Management, not construction-only
*
Comfortable working in live environments alongside operational FM teams
*
Strong leadership, commercial, and stakeholder management skills
