<div><p><b>Vickerstock</b> are working in partnership with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit a <b>Health, Safety & Environmental Officer</b>.</p><p>This role offers the chance to be part of a rapidly expanding division, supporting innovative projects while helping to drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement across all operations.</p><p>Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will support the delivery of Health, Safety, and Environmental objectives across a portfolio of decarbonisation, maintenance, and infrastructure projects. This is a highly visible role requiring regular site engagement, where you will work closely with project teams to ensure HSE requirements are effectively integrated throughout the project lifecycle.</p><p><b>In your new role:</b></p><ul><li>Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems</li><li>Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities across active project sites</li><li>Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work to ensure effective risk control</li><li>Support incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions</li><li>Monitor compliance with client requirements, company standards, and relevant HSE legislation</li><li>Work closely with project delivery teams, contractors, and subcontractors to promote safe working practices</li><li>Provide practical HSE guidance and support throughout all stages of project delivery</li><li>Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to site personnel</li><li>Assist with environmental management initiatives and promote sustainable working practices</li><li>Support audit programmes and help maintain readiness for client, regulatory, and certification audits</li><li>Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and contribute to the development of a positive behavioural safety culture</li><li>Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and performance data</li></ul><p><b>What you will need to succeed:</b></p><ul><li>Previous experience within a Health & Safety, HSE, or SHEQ role, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or energy-related sectors</li><li>Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and its practical application on project sites</li><li>Experience carrying out audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations</li><li>Knowledge of CDM regulations and contractor management principles</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills</li><li>Ability to influence positive safety behaviours and promote a proactive safety culture</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively</li><li>Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required</li></ul><p><b>Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but dont worry if you dont):</b></p><ul><li>Experience working on decarbonisation, renewable energy, energy transition, or infrastructure projects</li><li>Knowledge of technologies such as heat pumps, district heating, retrofit programmes, solar, or battery storage systems</li><li>NEBOSH qualification or equivalent Health & Safety certification</li><li>Experience supporting contractor and subcontractor compliance activities</li><li>Familiarity with environmental management systems and sustainability initiatives</li></ul></div>
