Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B remand prison based in Winchester, Hampshire. The prison houses around 706 patients and is a busy environment where no two days are the same. The role is focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients, and you will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team including SMS prescriber, ACP and other GPs.
Hours Saturdays 1pm-6pm
Salary This position is part time. You will receive an annual salary up to £126,600 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
70As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
* Prescribe for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, and actively participate in clinical governance and effectiveness activities, including diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways

Qualifications
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these
