We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to join a highly successful and innovative manufacturing business based in Cheltenham. This role would suit an ambitious engineer with experience within a manufacturing environment who is passionate about Lean manufacturing, process improvement, and driving operational excellence.
The Role
As Production Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering production engineering functions across the business, supporting manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing alternative production methods using Lean tools and techniques
* Designing manufacturing systems, layouts, tooling, fixtures, and material handling equipment
* Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve OEE and reduce waste
* Using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies including VSM, Kanban, SMED, Line Balancing, and Layout & Flow
* Creating drawings and concepts using Solidworks
* Supporting PFMEA's, process flows, and standard operating procedures
* Assisting with root cause analysis and 8D investigations
* Supporting Capex projects and investment justifications
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
* Experience working within a manufacturing engineering environment
* Knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles
* Experience with problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques
* Solidworks experience (highly advantageous)
* Engineering Degree or Apprentice trained with HNC/HND qualification
