Novus Cambria is a leading prison education provider, recruiting a skilled Musician with a performing arts background to inspire and engage learners through creative learning. Trainer or teaching experience is preferred but not essential. You'll need relevant experience across music, drama, dance, or theatre, along with a passion for sharing your knowledge and supporting learners to build confidence, aid rehabilitation, and improve future employability. We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Cambria, our prison education provider at HMP Berwyn, working as a Music & Performing Arts Trainer. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week. Who are Novus Cambria? Site Information HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society Role Responsibilities Please see the attached role profile for an overview of general role responsibilities. Specific details pertaining to the individual role will be shared during the interview process. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to: Hold a minimum L3 qualification in relevant, subject specific area Hold a minimum L3 teaching qualification, e.g. AET, PTTLS or equivalent (Desirable, but not essential) Hold at least a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Hold, or commit to gain within 1 year, an appropriate Assessor qualification (TAQA 3, A1, or equivalent) Industry experience within the relevant vocational sector. The above criteria are listed as essential on the role profile. However, there may be options available for applicants with industry experience to complete the required qualifications in-post, subject to funding and eligibility conditions.
