About the role:
As a Management Accountant, you will liaise closely with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve your objectives. As a key point of contact for the JCB's finance function, you will need to be approachable, knowledgeable, and able to advise and respond to queries in a professional and courteous manner. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement and future development opportunities. You will play a vital role in delivering accurate and timely financial data and reporting in accordance with the Group Finance Calendar.
What does this role involve day to day:
* Supporting the Assistant Financial Controller with month-end reporting activities.
* Preparing and explaining key variances, providing clarity and insight to stakeholders.
* Leading on forecasting and budgeting, working closely with non-Finance teams to build monthly overhead forecasts and the annual budget.
* Completing balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving issues promptly.
* Managing and maintaining the fixed asset register, including monitoring new capital expenditure and forecasting future requirements.
* Completing accruals and prepayments and posting all relevant journals accurately.
* Driving process improvements and standardisation, contributing to a stronger, more efficient Finance function.
This will be suited to you if...
* You are qualified or in the final stages of a recognised accounting qualification.
* You have previous experience working within a Finance function, ideally with exposure to management accounts.
* You're confident using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and VLOOKUPS.
* You thrive in a busy environment with high volumes and tight deadlines.
* You're able to work effectively in an established team, building strong relationships with both Finance and non-Finance colleagues.
* You enjoy challenging the status quo, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving more efficient ways of working.
* You demonstrate strong attention to detail, personal accountability, and the ability to prioritise your workload effectively.
* You ensure that all work consistently adheres to Group Accounting Policies and is delivered to a high standard.
