The Practice Nurse will be responsible for various clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, and clinics for well women and well men. The role also involves actively supporting the practice management team in reviewing and delivering clinical policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
Clinical knowledge in the following areas:
1. Wound care/removal of sutures and staples
2. ECGs
3. Venepuncture
4. New patient medicals
5. Immunisations (routine, childhood, and travel)
6. Women's health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
7. Requesting pathology tests and processing results, advising patients accordingly
8. Travel medicine
9. Chronic disease management awareness for diabetes, hypertension, CHD, asthma, and spirometry
