Overview
MSAT Drug Product Owner Lead role at GSK, as listed on myGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community. The position leads a high-performing team of Product Owners and provides strategic oversight across the product lifecycle, with emphasis on quality, knowledge transfer, and Product Control Strategy implementation. The role supports manufacturing technical leadership, resolves operational issues, oversees New Product Introductions and planned changes, and drives continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and digital tool adoption.
GSK Barnard Castle is a key secondary manufacturing site with hybrid working opportunities under the Performance with Choice programme.
Responsibilities
* Leadership and Team Development: Develop and lead a highly competent team of Product Owners, mentoring and coaching to enhance professional development and performance.
* Strategic Oversight of Product Management: Ensure effective management of product quality and knowledge transfer; oversee the Product Control Strategy and lifecycle activities, monitoring performance and changes.
* Technical Support and Coordination: Provide direction for technical support to manufacturing processes, resolving day-to-day issues and minimizing waste/rejects.
* New Product Introduction and Planned Changes: Oversee preparation and execution of NPI tasks and lifecycle changes, ensuring smooth handover to production.
* Product and Process Improvement: Facilitate improvements in CQAs and CPPs, focusing on yield, scrap reduction, and cost of goods.
* Product Performance and Standards: Promote technical standards and implement systems to track and analyze product performance; liaise with global MSAT stakeholders.
* Risk Management: Ensure risk assessment and action planning in line with the Risk Management System.
* Sponsorship of Investigations and RCA: Sponsor investigations and root cause analysis for deviations, leading CAPAs.
* Culture and Digital Leadership: Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of digital tools and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
* Basic Qualifications: BSc in Scientific or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience; proven capability to lead line and matrix teams in a technical role; knowledge of MHRA/EMA/FDA and quality requirements; understanding of multiple product dose forms and manufacturing processes; experience in product lifecycle management.
* Preferred Qualifications: Strategic thinking and planning; ability to lead and motivate a team; strong organizational and project management skills; collaboration across cross-functional teams; attention to detail and quality; proficiency in digital tools; innovative mindset; experience with process validation, scale-up, and technical transfer; knowledge of internal/external quality and EHS requirements.
