Sister/Charge Nurse - Intensive Care Unit role at Walsall Council.
Walsall NHS Trust Critical Care Unit has an excellent opportunity for a band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join a dedicated team in an 18 bedded intensive care unit that delivers care to patients in Walsall and the surrounding areas. The post holder will work with Senior Sisters and the Matron to deliver, develop and maintain a team approach in a progressive clinical learning environment.
The successful applicant will have extensive post-registration experience in critical care and hold the Critical Care Course. At least 18 months post-course experience is expected. The post holder should have leadership and managerial qualities; mentorship (ENB 988) or equivalent is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, the ability to teach and mentor junior nursing staff and students, and a commitment to teamwork are essential. The role includes working within ICU as part of the responsibilities and development plan, and adherence to policy and the NMC code at all times.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a well-established, hard-working team prioritising patient safety.
* Deliver, develop and maintain a working team approach within a progressive clinical learning environment.
* Collaborate with Senior Sisters and the Matron to deliver high standards of care and patient experience in ICU.
* Provide leadership and management within critical care and mentor junior staff and students.
* Ensure compliance with policies and the NMC code of professional conduct.
* Work closely with the Senior Sister to deliver high standards of care in ICU and participate in development plans.
Qualifications
* Critical Care Course completed; extensive post-registration critical care experience.
* At least 18 months post-course experience.
* Leadership and managerial qualities; mentorship training (ENB 988) or equivalent preferred.
* Excellent communication skills; ability to teach and mentor junior staff and students.
* Commitment to teamwork and ability to work effectively with the MDT to provide safe, high-standard care.
