Required Qualifications
Degree or Higher in Electrical / Electronic engineering or equivalent experience.
Strong all-round knowledge and understanding of electronic components & principles.
Exceptional hardware / FPGA debugging skills.
The Test Developemnt Engineer needs to validate requirements and verify product features in the control and protection system for VSC and LCC schemes.
Dynamic and proactive with ability to work on own or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to resolve technical issues.
Job Description
You will play a key role in the product test cycle and collaborate as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
The role is accountable for business-critical development to meet product requirements and timelines for future commercial HVDC projects.
Specifying, designing, implementing, optimizing, and documenting bench and system level tests.
Conducting verification and validation testing to ensure designs meet performance and reliability requirements.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Applying best engineering standards and developing practices to ensure tests comply with relevant health & safety and international standards.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant experience in an electrical engineering environment.
Ability to translate high level design requirements into efficient and robust test implementations.
Meticulous and thorough work ethic with an attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience of designing hardware for real time control applications.
High-speed digital hardware design and PCB layout skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Motivated great teammate, self-starter, results oriented.
Scripting experience using Perl, Python
Experience of version control, e.g., SVN, GIT
Bug tracking tools, e.g., JIRA
Power Electronics control system design.
Knowledge of HVDC
