Job summary
We are delighted toadvertise this part-time (25 hours per week) 12-month fixed-term/secondment** opportunity for a Clinical Educator withinFamily Care. This role will support the education and training of our ward-based Paediatric teams. We are lookingfor individuals who are enthusiastic about improving patient care throughsupporting Nurse and HCA education.
Youwill be a Registered Childrens Nurse with a Degree and will have a MentorshipCertificate or will have undertaken Preceptorship training. You will be able to work clinically with teamsat ward/department level and will be supported to deliver key trainingobjectives by the Matron and Lead Matron.

Main duties of the job
You will be required to:
Support theTrust's Governance and Patient Safety Agenda through active participation in thework of the Nurse Documentation Group and relevant training subgroups.
Maintain thedelivery and quality of services provided within the care environment, includingthe care delivered, supporting nursing standards and acting as a role modelworking clinically with staff where needed.
Influence changeand development of practice, utilising the most recent evidence base.
Contribute toperformance review of nursing staff where appropriate.
Contribute tointerview Panels, where appropriate in the Appointment of staff, and be awareof legislation and local HR policies affecting the employment of staff.
Implementevaluation audits to measure the impact of educational programmes anddisseminate the results.
Support anddeliver local competency-based induction for new staff and students to the Directorates.
As a ProfessionalNurse Advocate (PNA) support provision of Clinical Supervision.
Identify areas ofgood practice and provide opportunities for staff to share this across the Organisation.

The primary purpose of this role is to support and deliver on-going education and training for nursing and teams. There may be a requirement to support members of the wider MDT to support implementation of wider service/pathway changes. Identify all opportunities for themselves and others where learning can take place, both formally and informally. Support a Training Needs Analysis and maintain registers of training as appropriate, support ward and departmental sisters/charge nurses to ensure mandatory training levels are compliant with Trust standard. Contribute to corporate training and education. Will be asked to support the roll out ofpractice development initiatives. Develop appropriate competency based clinical skills education and develop relevant competency assessment documents for approval by NEAG. Support the Trusts Governance and Patient Safety agenda through active participation in the work of the Nurse Documentation Group and relevant training subgroups. To maintain the delivery and quality of services provided within the care environment including the care delivered, supporting nursing standards and acting as a role model working clinically with staff where needed.
