PACE Infrastructure Solutions is a UK rail-focused civils and infrastructure business, delivering safe, reliable, and high quality projects across the network. Since 2019, we've built a reputation for delivering high-quality solutions, with repeat clients and a strong track record in both permanent and temporary works. We're growing our in-house delivery capability and are seeking a Senior Engineer to play a key role in shaping and expanding our civils function. This is a hands-on, high-impact role, leading projects to Network Rail standards, driving accessibility improvements, and contributing to the growth of one of the UK's fastest-growing rail infrastructure businesses.
Responsibilities
* Lead all engineering planning and delivering, including material take offs, producing Bill of Quantities and quality project requirements as well as production of technical documents for
* Develop, review, and implement of technical documents such as; Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality plans, method statements and Verification of Inspections (VOI) documentation to support assurance and approvals.
* Provide hands-on surveying and setting-out using total stations, Trimble, and other digital tools.
* Carry out site inspections, audits, and quality checks to verify works are delivered to specification and standards.
* Collaborate with project managers & Construction team and clients to resolve engineering and technical queries (TQ's) and Non-conformance reports (NCR)
* Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality, with a focus on accessibility and sustainable solutions.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and implementing best practices across projects. Essential
* Minimum 5 years' experience in civils/infrastructure engineering, ideally within the rail sector.
* Strong working knowledge of Network Rail standards and assurance processes.
• Hands-on experience with total stations, Trimble, and other surveying/setting-out equipment.
* Proven track record in delivering civils works to programme, quality, and safety requirements.
* Experience preparing and reviewing ITPs, VOI's, TQs, NCRs documentation, and quality plans.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
* Experience delivering Access for All (AfA) or other rail accessibility schemes.
* Experience delivering Station upgrades and platform works
* Familiarity with BIM or other digital delivery tools.
