We are looking for a highly experienced museum professional to lead a team of regional curators in developing the object collections, ensuring both team and collection are integral in the success of the charity.

In this exciting new role of Senior Curator of Collections - North and West, you will bring our curators across the north and west regions to form a unified team. Your team will deliver exemplary research, craft compelling narratives and showcase our collections in both digital and on-site environments.

As Senior Curator of collections, you will work closely with regional stakeholders to set regional strategy and planning. You will lead on aspects of our national research agenda, agree regional research approaches and develop your own areas of expertise.

With your team, you will ensure close collaboration with Collections Management and Conservation colleagues helping to prioritise care of the collections. You will join with historians and interpretation colleagues to generate collection focussed content to meet our goals of widening audiences and deepening their experience.

You will bring your experience to agreed project work, the curation of key properties and to specified assemblages.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a proven ability in managing and inspiring a team of museum professionals in delivering their potential and that of their collections. You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in collections research and its outcomes, in leading on exhibition work and across a wide range of collections-based engagement.

You will be an excellent communicator with the confidence and ability to represent the charity externally and cultivate effective internal and external stakeholder relationships and collaborations.

This role can be worked flexibly either from home or based at one of our sites or offices across the country, although you will required to work from regional offices in both York and Bristol. This can be discussed in more detail at interview.

Interviews will be held in the week commencing 26th January at our office in Bristol.
