The Role
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing all logistics activities for James Fisher Offshore/JF Decom, including supporting procurement with sourcing parts and services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage and control all logistical requirements for James Fisher Offshore/JF Decom.
2. Ensure company compliance with all customs and excise requirements.
3. Engage with Customs & Excise as required and act as the company's representative for audits and interactions.
4. Develop and implement best practice processes and procedures for logistics.
5. Arrange and manage transport and logistics efficiently to support operations.
6. Ensure all delivery notes, manifests, invoices, and dangerous goods paperwork are correctly prepared.
7. Process internal and external material requisitions promptly, considering priorities.
8. Ensure purchase orders are correctly raised following company procedures.
9. Strive for timely, budget-conscious, and quality-compliant deliveries.
10. Pass supporting paperwork to relevant departments.
11. Negotiate prices with suppliers.
12. Obtain quotes for bids and tenders.
13. Organize project-specific equipment.
14. Oversee purchase orders in the ERP system.
15. Manage and schedule demands, understanding customer needs and parts availability.
16. Build and maintain supplier and internal customer relationships.
17. Identify new suppliers to meet business needs.
18. Communicate logistical issues to management and stakeholders.
19. Assist Accounts with invoice matching and PO queries.
20. Maintain accurate project files and spreadsheets.
21. Adhere to company policies and health and safety standards.
22. Promote a professional and positive image within the team.
Skills & Experience
* Proficiency in logistics management and procurement, with a broad business understanding.
* Knowledge of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) portal is advantageous.
* Understanding of various transport methods.
* Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
* Experience with Sage and strong IT skills, especially MS Word and Excel.
* Preferred but not essential: qualification in Dangerous Goods handling.
Candidate Profile
We seek a calm, confident, positive, and enthusiastic individual with experience in logistics, purchasing, and scheduling. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to undertake industry training are essential. Excellent communication and analytical skills are also required. Hybrid/flexible working options are available.
