Job Overview
The London and southeast region of The Coach Travel Group, Planning and Optimisation Manager will work alongside our operational and commercial teams to lead the regional forward driver allocations, drive cost efficiencies and service improvement by managing forward allocations, centrally reviewing local planned work, identifying optimisation opportunities and working in partnership with our local businesses to reduce dead mileage, improve vehicle and driver utilisation and lower overall operating cost.
Responsibilities
* Identify opportunities to combine work, reduce empty legs and positioning fleet-based and optimise vehicle utilisation by determining most efficient business to operate the duty
* Review locally planned work to identify inefficiencies and highlight risks / opportunities
* Quantify and track savings delivered
* Forward allocate driver duties and vehicles
* Provide specialist support for complex scheduling challenges
* Develop and embed group planning principles
* Work in partnership with local operations managers, commercial teams and finance
* Work in partnership with the Regional Sales Manager to maximise revenue opportunities
* Work with IT to improve visibility of sellable spare capacity
* Produce clear reports and recommendations for senior managers
* Act as a point of contact for planning and scheduling queries
* Act as a transport manager, supporting driver compliance, driver management processes and scheduling compliance
Qualifications
* CPC transport manager
* Knowledge of coach specific operations
* Experience using transport planning and optimisation tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £45,000.00-£47,000.00 per year
