Role Overview
Frimley Health are seeking a Physiotherapy assistant with a ‘can‑do’ attitude to join our team at Wexham Park Hospital. In this ward‑based role you will primarily assist the physiotherapy team with the delivery of rehabilitation to a variety of patients, including those who may be unwell and in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide general support under the direct or indirect supervision of a qualified physiotherapist.
* Assist in the care of patients within the Rehabilitation Department, Medical, Orthopaedics and Acute Stroke Unit wards.
* Support patient activities, including 1:1 delegated exercise programmes, patient education and exercise classes.
* Assist in running the hydrotherapy service under the supervision of a senior physiotherapist.
* Carry out portering of patients between wards and departments.
* Provide personal care assistance to patients (toileting, dressing).
* Take patient information handover on the ward from nursing staff when competent to do so.
* Book, cancel and rearrange patient appointments using the departmental electronic diary system.
* Maintain records of work carried out, including daily statistics.
* Check, initiate and maintain stock levels of stationery, equipment, material, etc., and submit orders to senior staff.
* Communicate complex patient‑related information effectively to ensure collaborative working with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT).
* Use IT competently to support patient care and clinic management.
* Participate in scheduling new patient and follow‑up clinic appointments on the Hospital’s iPM system and provide reception services.
* Ensure that all iPM clinics are closed within the required Trust timescales and that patient information is recorded accurately.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Desirable: previous experience working in a hospital or care environment.
* Passion for delivering excellent standards of patient care.
* Right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.
* Must be able to attend face‑to‑face; online alternatives are not available.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to work across a range of departments including Rehabilitation, Medical, Orthopaedics and Acute Stroke Units.
