We have a fantastic opening for a Senior Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our team at HMP Belmarsh. As the Senior Learning Disability Nurse, youll be an integral part of the healthcare team. Using your outstanding clinical skills and passion for care the role this role will provide an opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to patients, without compromising on efficiency and quality.
HMP Belmarsh is a Category A mens prison with an operational capacity of over 910 inmates. The site houses a High Security Unit (HSU) and is regarded as the most secure prison unit in the United Kingdom.
This is a full-time role working hours per week.
The working hours are Mon-Fri 8:00 or 9:00 -17:00.
You will receive an annual salary up to 50,400 per annum DEO + Golden Hell of 3,000 after 24 months service - conditions apply.

Main duties of the job
Being in an environment that never stands still, you could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells. In this role, you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team who will support and help you succeed.

Job responsibilities
As a Senior LearningDisabilities Nurse you will respond as directed by the Mental Health TeamManager in the day to day operational functioning of the Mental Health team.
You will haveresponsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of deliveringa nursing service for adults with learning disabilities/ challenging behaviour,within the criminal justice setting. You will be working with adults whosebehaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into contact with thecriminal justice system. You will be working with the multi-disciplinary teamto undertake person centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning andco-ordination of positive non aversive behavioural approaches to service users.
You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to;
Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seekingout, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalisedand informed by what matters to them.
Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promotingprofessional boundaries. You will play an active part in the assessment,planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following ourpolicies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
Inspire excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading andmotivating the team, recognising that our workforce is our most valuableasset. You will forge strong links withour partners and stakeholders, providing a service that people can trust, feelsafe within, and feel proud of.
