Chadsfield Medical Practice, a GP practice based in Romiley Health Centre, is recruiting an experienced medical receptionist and administrator for a dual role covering workflow processing (document management via DocMan) and reception duties. The position is ideal for candidates with experience in workflow and DocMan or GP administration who are keen to learn and develop their skills.

Responsibilities
* Scan and receive clinical correspondence for processing.
* Identify relevant clinical information in patient correspondence.
* Code clinical information accurately onto the patient record and follow up any actions.
* Forward necessary correspondence to the appropriate GP or other appropriate staff.
* Engage in a supervised training period to acquire sufficient knowledge and expertise.
* Maintain and improve knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
* Process and complete audits and tasks in line with the Practice’s requirements.
* Contribute to the auditing and constructive feedback processes of others.
* Mentor junior staff in clinical coding and raise coding queries with the Lead GP or Practice Manager.
* Deal with coding queries within the scope of competence.
* Develop new processes and protocols with support from the Lead GP as required.
* Undertake reception and admin duties, covering reception desk, phones, e‑mails and correspondence.
* Manage incoming queries and redirect patients to agreed services such as pharmacy first.
* Process practice e‑mails and workflow tasks, EMIS tasks and Accurx requests.
* Recall and proactive call patients in line with QOF, LCS and other Practice requirements.
* Process new patient registrations.
* Attend mandatory training and staff meetings.
* Remain flexible to meet the needs of the business and support smooth Practice operation.
* Familiarise with and adhere to all Practice policies (Health and Safety, Infection Control, Information Governance, Safeguarding) and complete required training.
* Ensure safeguarding training for adults and children is up to date and act on any concerns.
* Keep Infection Control and Information Governance training current and comply with the Caldecott Principles.
* Ensure awareness of Health and Safety responsibilities per the Practice risk assessment and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Comply with the Practice staff immunisation policy and other risk assessment requirements.
* Maintain all required training records up to date.
* Support and act as a mentor to junior staff in clinical coding.
* Collaborate with other workflow administrators to provide round‑the‑clock coverage.
