We are currently offering the following opportunity: Peripatetic Play Assistant - PKC13051. Salary: £15,485 - £16,177 (18 hours per week, term-time; 36 hours per week during school holidays). Based at Community Wing, Perth Grammar School.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the provision of high-quality care and a comprehensive range of stimulating and creative activities (e.g., arts and crafts, storytelling, den building, physical play, and organising trips/outings) to children in the service.
* Work closely with the Supervisor and as a member of the Kids Club Team and wider School Team to support children’s learning and development in a safe and inclusive environment outside school hours in a registered childcare service.
* Contribute to a flexible working pattern: 18 hours per week during term-time and 36 hours during holiday periods.
* Progress toward a recognised childcare qualification with support provided to achieve the qualification within required timescales.
* Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 3 months of commencing employment and maintain annual membership.
* Engage in further training and professional development opportunities as offered.

* Genuine interest and commitment to working with children in a professional capacity within early learning or childcare.
* Child-focused approach with sensitivity, patience, compassion, and a welcoming manner to foster trust and safety for children and their families/carers.
* Interest in child development and wellbeing; qualities such as kindness, respect, and good manners; ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Commitment to achieving the required qualification within the timescales set by the SSSC. Support to access the qualification financially.
* No entry qualifications are required, but you will be supported to work towards a recognised qualification listed by the SSSC.
* Willingness to register with the SSSC for Day Care of Children within 3 months of starting and maintain annual membership.
