Overview

Nurse Analyst- Medical Law Services (MLS) role at Medical Law Services. This opportunity is for a nurse to apply clinical expertise in a dynamic legal setting, focusing on assessing the viability of potential clinical negligence cases and preparing detailed case reviews.


Location and Hours

Location: We work across England, with offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Southport. This is a hybrid role offering flexible working practices with a balance of home and office time.
Hours: 35 hours per week (Hybrid - 2 days in the office per week, negotiable if needed).


About MLS

Medical Law Services is part of the Fletchers Solicitors group. MLS provides expert support to the personal injury and clinical negligence sector. Our workplace culture is inclusive, informal and supportive, with a focus on wellbeing and flexible working arrangements.


Main Responsibilities

* Review medical records and other documentation relevant to cases
* Sort and categorize medical records
* Prepare opinions of merit (OOM) and chronology to assist investigations and assess prospects, including breach of duty and causation considerations
* Create paginations (light to full) in paperless format, using IT tools and evolving AI tools
* Conduct research to understand medico-legal elements and relevant professional guidelines
* Apply GDPR understanding to identify issues within medical records
* Progress towards Risk Assessment 1s where applicable


Essential Skills and Experience

* Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification experience in NHS practice or clinical setting as a registered nurse
* Strong accuracy in work output
* Ability to learn and adapt to new working environments
* Analytical skills and clear communication
* Ability to work well in a team, both remotely and in person
* Motivated, organized, proactive, able to work under pressure
* Experience with audits and interpreting findings to improve practice
* Basic understanding of medical records
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
