ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

Headquartered in East Kilbride and with an R+D centre in Hamilton, Grw Talent's client is building out a high-volume electronic probe test card production and assembly business in East Kilbride. Already employing over 100 heads they continue to grow in Scotland, USA and Asia. They now need to make the key hire of an Assembly Technician.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a highly specialised environment. You will play a key role in the production of new technology, assembling precision components and sub-assemblies into finished products. You will work under microscopes for extended periods, handle delicate materials, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Responsibilities
Read & interpret product specifications, assembly instructions & technical drawings.
Assemble small, intricate components into sub-assemblies and finished products.
Work extensively under microscopes with a high level of patience and precision.
Operate and monitor a range of assembly equipment.
Perform basic testing, inspection, and quality checks.
Record production data and complete manufacturing batch records accurately.
Work with hazardous materials safely and in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
Pack finished goods with appropriate protective materials for shipment. You will need to have hands-on experience working with small components or in detailed manual assembly with strong manual dexterity and a logical, methodical approach to your work. It is important you are comfortable with working under microscopes with a quality-focus and attention to detail. Also useful would be the ability to read and follow assembly instructions and technical drawings / CAD knowledge.
Weare particularly keen to speak to candidates who have experience in the semiconductor / electronic manufacturing industries. It would be desirable for you to have an HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline with a background in mechanical/electrical engineering or precision assembly.
