About The Role

Are you a qualified finance professional with a passion for housing and development? LiveWest is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Development Finance Manager to join our Finance team. In this pivotal role, you’ll act as a strategic business partner to our Development directorate, providing financial insight, leadership, and challenge to support the delivery of our ambitious development programme.

You’ll lead a small team, manage financial reporting and planning processes, and play a key role in shaping the future of affordable housing across the South West.

Key Responsibilities:

* Business Partnering: Provide expert financial support and challenge to the Development directorate.
* Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of accountants, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
* Financial Reporting: Own the month-end process and deliver accurate, insightful management reports.
* Strategic Planning: Lead the production of the 30-year business plan for Development.
* Forecasting and Analysis: Review and challenge project cashflows and sales forecasts to ensure robust financial assumptions.
* Governance and Compliance: Prepare reports for committees and boards, and ensure timely regulatory returns.
* Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work flexibly across teams, contributing to wider business initiatives and projects.

This role is being offered on a full permanent basis. Hybrid working is available for this role, working 2–3 days per week in the office, depending on business need.

About The Candidate

htmlDevelopment Finance Manager - Candidate Requirements

To be successful in your application for the role of Development Finance Manager, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 3 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:

* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical and commercial acumen.
* Experienced in financial planning, reporting, and business partnering—ideally within housing, property, or development sectors.
* A confident communicator, able to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Proficient in MS Excel and financial systems, with a keen eye for detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
* A collaborative leader with a positive, adaptable approach and a passion for making a difference.

Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without requiring sponsorship.
