About the Role:

As a Domestic Abuse Refuge Support Worker, you will assist the refuge manager in the day-to-day running of the refuge, providing high-quality practical and emotional support, advice, and guidance to survivors of domestic abuse.

All posts are restricted to women due to the nature of the role. Exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, and Part 1. Section 7(2) e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take and accept referrals from the police, other agencies, and self-referrals via the Emaan House Helpline.
* Complete appropriate agreements related to support and tenancies, manage tenancy agreements, and ensure residents comply with house rules.
* Carry out DASH risk assessments, safety planning, and needs assessments according to Emaan House policies and procedures.
* Produce clear, accurate, and concise daily reports of service users and their case progress.
* Develop and regularly review individual support plans for each service user.
* Recognize individual needs of women and children and refer to specialist agencies where necessary.
* Ensure primary needs of residents are met, including immigration, food parcels, and various rights.
* Develop links with existing agencies, projects, and community services for smooth collaboration.
* Organize activities and celebrations for women and children to raise self-esteem and awareness.
* Accompany women to case conferences and meetings as appropriate.
* Maintain robust records for all service users and keep financial transactions records in line with Emaan House procedures.
* Ensure health and safety records, fire drill records, and legionnaire reports are up to date.
* Assist women in making claims for welfare benefits and appropriate applications for rehousing.
* Identify needs of women and children leaving Emaan House after being offered permanent accommodation.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday 9-5pm
