GSL Education are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Christchurch. This role is ideal for someone with experience in care, support work, SEN environments, or those eager to make a positive impact in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities of Disability Support Worker:
* Provide direct support to pupils with physical, learning, or developmental disabilities.
* Assist students with personal care, mobility, and independence where required.
* Support participation in classroom activities, school routines, and social interaction.
* Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement individual support plans.
* Use patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to promote pupil progress.
* Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience in disability support, SEN settings, care, or similar roles.
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to assist with personal care if required.
* Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
