GSL Education are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Christchurch. This role is ideal for someone with experience in care, support work, SEN environments, or those eager to make a positive impact in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities of Disability Support Worker:

• Provide direct support to pupils with physical, learning, or developmental disabilities.
• Assist students with personal care, mobility, and independence where required.
• Support participation in classroom activities, school routines, and social interaction.
• Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement individual support plans.
• Use patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to promote pupil progress.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience in disability support, SEN settings, care, or similar roles.
• A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to assist with personal care if required.
• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
