Senior HR Business Partner / Learning & Development Lead
Location: Edinburgh
Contract: Permanent

Meraki Talent are delighted to be partnering with our client, an award‑winning technology and data consultancy, to appoint a Senior HR Business Partner / Learning & Development Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take on a senior, high‑impact role within a growing organisation recognised as a Great Place to Work.

About the Organisation

Our client is a respected consultancy specialising in data management, analytics, and modern technologies such as AI and machine learning. They are known for their inclusive, collaborative culture and strong commitment to employee wellbeing and continuous development. With regular social events, structured learning pathways, and a supportive leadership team, they offer a working environment where people can thrive.

The Opportunity
This newly created role will report to the Head of People & Engagement and combines both HR business partnering and L&D leadership. It would suit someone with at least 3–4 years' HR experience who is ready to step into a more senior role with autonomy, influence, and scope to make a real difference.
You'll work closely with managers and consultants across the business, shaping employee experience, enabling development, and supporting a culture where people are empowered to reach their full potential.
The position is based in Edinburgh with hybrid working (2–3 days a week in the office) and occasional travel to other UK locations.

Key Responsibilities
* Build trusted relationships with managers, employees, and teams, delivering a high‑quality HR business partnering service.
* Provide generalist HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
* Lead on employee relations and advise leaders on change, culture, engagement, and organisational development.

* Conduct learning needs analyses and translate insights into targeted development programmes.
* Oversee learning frameworks and champion a culture of continuous development.
* Support career progression processes, including promotions and early careers programmes.
* Use people data and insights to support decision-making.
* Proactively improve policies, processes, and the wider employee experience.
* Adapt to changing business priorities and contribute to both strategic and operational HR objectives.
About You
* Experienced HR professional with strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and L&D.
* Excellent working understanding of UK employment law.
* Confident influencer with the ability to partner with leaders at all levels.
* Strong communicator who builds credibility quickly.
* Passionate about coaching, development, and supporting others to grow.
* Proactive, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
* Tech‑savvy with an interest in data‑driven HR.
* CIPD qualification desirable but not essential.
What's on Offer
* Competitive salary (DOE)
* Discretionary bonus scheme
* Up to 38 days' holiday (including buy/sell)
* Additional wellbeing “sunshine time” scheme
* Life assurance (4x salary)
* 5% employer pension contribution
* Private medical insurance
* Income protection & critical illness cover
