Job Role: ESOL Tutor
Locations: Liverpool City Centre & West Derby
Contract: Fixed term (10 weeks with potential for future opportunities)
Salary: £26,000 pro-rata

Are you passionate about helping adults improve their English skills? Trigon Recruitment are recruiting for an ESOL Tutor to deliver a 10-week, non-accredited ESOL programme in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching, motivating, and supporting learners to achieve their goals. You’ll be working with a cohort of 30 learners, across all ESOL levels, providing face-to-face classroom teaching Monday–Thursday and carrying out administration on Fridays.
Delivery:
Monday – Thursday, 10am–2pm: Face-to-face classroom teaching
Friday: Admin day (progress tracking, planning, learner support)
Overall working hours: Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm
No formal qualifications are required for this role, but experience in teaching or supporting ESOL learners is essential. Laptop, phone, and expenses will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging ESOL sessions for mixed-level adult learners, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
· Manage and support a cohort of 30 learners, creating a positive and motivating learning environment.
· Conduct initial assessments to determine learners’ starting points and design Individual Learning Plans.
· Monitor attendance, participation, and learner progress, completing all required administration.
· Provide constructive feedback to help learners achieve their individual goals.
· Manage classroom behaviours, promoting attendance, punctuality, and commitment.
· Support learners’ wider employability and progression needs, liaising with colleagues as necessary.
· Complete administrative tasks, including learner records, reports, and funding requirements.
· Uphold safeguarding, Prevent, and health & safety standards, ensuring a safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
· Experienced in delivering ESOL or supporting learners with English as a second language.
· Confident delivering face-to-face to a large, mixed-ability cohort.
· Passionate about helping adults improve their English skills.
· Organised, adaptable, and IT literate, with the ability to manage lesson delivery and admin efficiently.
· Able to work full-time hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm).
· Strong classroom management and communication skills.
