We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive primary school team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within the Upper Key Stage 2 environment.
As a Year 4 TA, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, deliver small‑group interventions, and help create a positive, stimulating classroom where every child can succeed.

Start Date: Monday 1st June 2026
Salary: £14.30 - £15 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the Year 4 curriculum.
Provide targeted support to pupils in small groups and 1:1 where needed.
Assist with reading, writing, maths, and foundation subjects to reinforce key concepts.
Help maintain a positive learning environment with clear routines and expectations.
Support pupils with varying needs, including SEND, EAL, and those requiring emotional or behavioural support.
Contribute to assessment by observing and reporting pupil progress to the class teacher.
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support whole‑child development.
Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2.
A warm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to build positive relationships and support pupils with a range of needs.
Confidence delivering small‑group interventions and supporting independent learning.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, childcare, or education-based training) are desirable but not essential.
