Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated pharmacy technician to join our team.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a busy dispensing service for in-patients and out-patients at Royal Cornhill Hospital.
* Actively participate in the dispensing process, including final accuracy checks and deputising for the Lead Pharmacy Technician.
* Organise the day-to-day workload of the dispensary, providing technical support to wards.
* Co‑ordinate the dispensing and supply of clozapine.
* Provide training to pharmacy staff and members of multidisciplinary teams.
* Conduct medicines management activities at ward level, support the medicines‑reconciliation process, check patients’ own medicines and organise medicines supply for inpatient stays and discharge.
* Lead medicines‑related audit activities.
* Commit to rotational weekend working in the dispensary at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
* Assume responsibility for costs associated with entering the Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone if the post operates within it.
Qualifications
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Have or be willing to complete the Accredited Checking Technician qualification.
* Interested in working within mental health.
Working Hours and Compensation
As of 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted pro‑rata. A corresponding increase in hourly rate will be applied to keep pay unaffected.
