Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools GSL Education are seeking several Cover Supervisors to work with our partnership secondary schools. Location: Redcar Contract: Temporary (with the potential to become permanent for the right person) Pay: £100–£120 per day Start Date: As soon as possible The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work. This role is ideal for retired teachers, graduates, or individuals with strong classroom and behaviour management skills. Responsibilities Oversee whole classes across KS3 and KS4 Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials Maintain good classroom behaviour in line with school policies Support students to complete work effectively Provide feedback to teaching staff and school leaders Follow safeguarding procedures at all times Requirements Strong behaviour management skills Confidence overseeing a class of secondary-aged pupils Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable) Suitable for retired teachers or graduates considering a career in education Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What We Offer Competitive daily rate of £100–£120 Flexible working opportunities Placements in supportive partnership schools Opportunity for long-term and potentially permanent roles Safeguarding GSL Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
